The Art of Compassion

“It is a great consolation for me to remember that the Lord, to whom I had drawn near in humble and child-like faith, has suffered and died for me, and that He will look on me in love and compassion.”~ Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Our day to day lives are full of business, and so it becomes necessary to take a step back from our circumstances and invest in the lives of others.  While reading The Power for True Success recently I found a neat triad of ways to love on others;

Sympathy: feeling sorry for people who are hurting.
Empathy: feeling the pain with hurting people.
Compassion: doing something about the pain.

All three of these elements are exemplified in the story of the Good Samaritan;

"Three men saw a wounded traveler by the side of the road.  The first one must have felt sympathy as he passed by.  The second indicated empathy as he came over and looked at him, but the third had compassion as he stopped and helped him.  He was the Good Samaritan." ~ Luke 10:30-37

Today as you walk through the circumstances of life, Stop, Think,LOVE !

Sincerely,

"7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ" ~ Ephesians 1:7-9
